Tax in Newfoundland and Labrador
Sales tax when you buy gold in Newfoundland and Labrador
Gold jewellery in Newfoundland and Labrador carries 15% HST. On a $1,000.00 ring that is $150.00 of tax, for a total of $1,150.00. The rate is the same in every city and town in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Bars, ingots, wafers and coins of gold or platinum at least 99.5% pure, or silver at least 99.9% pure, carry no GST/HST.
