How much is sterling silver jewellery worth in Canada?
Silver jewellery stamped "925" or "Sterling" is 92.5% silver. Light pieces are worth little for their silver, so most are worth more as jewellery than as scrap. A ring often weighs 2 to 10 grams and a chain or bracelet 5 to 50 grams.

What a buyer takes off
- Stones and any non-silver clasps.
Can it be worth more than its silver?
Usually, if it is signed (Tiffany, David Yurman, Georg Jensen, Navajo or Taxco makers) or in good condition.
Before you sell
- Many buyers have a minimum for silver. Sell it together with heavier silver items.
The weights above are typical, not yours: weigh your own piece in grams. A kitchen scale that reads to 0.1 g is close enough for a first estimate. Then compare two or three written offers as a percent of melt. Seewhat a fair price is.
